hot take: there’s no reason that directors can’t cast plus size people, people with disabilities, people of color, or really any marginalized group of people in any role in musicals. Like take a musical and replace the white lead with any of the aforementioned people and the musical will still work and still make sense. So much of musicals are based on imagination so if your argument is ‘well it wouldn’t make sense if Evan Hansen was asian if Heidi was white ekdmdkdkd’ SISTER THE REAL ACTORS HAVE LIKE A FIVE YEAR AGE DIFFERENCE AND YOU CAN STILL IMAGINE THAT ONE IS THE OTHERS PARENT. anyway rant over just be more diverse in casting jfc one black character or one chubby girl isn’t diverse okay rant over
